MURDOCK Discography.

MURDOCK Discography. Thanks to another Blog and a facebook Group. I've been able to go back and really listen to my own band something that i have neglected to do in some time now. Point is that i am very proud of the work as a whole and the growth we showed. Ray Reres, Robert Marinelli, Samuel Peralta, Sean McCann, Gregory "Elway" Ernst, Bryan Wagner, and Frank Stapes shared some great times and wonderful memories. We pissed off alot of people and each other at times. Staten Island folk for the more part did not like us at all, but we played what we wanted to play. Always the first band to show up and the last band to leave we got known as "The Murdock Fraternity" every city we showed up in we rolled with our own fun. Some of us have grown apart and i hope everyone who shared in this band can look back with the fondness that i have.

THE GHOST ARMADA

The Ghost Armada was formed by members of MURDOCK after Elway moved to Richmond VA. We had a studio room and the drive to play music. We just wanted to do something a bit different from what we had been doing. We grabbed Barrett (victims of a drive by) on Bass, McCann jumped on drums and we were off. Dave Witte(Munciple Waste, Human Remains) told us we sounded like AC/DC on Meth...We were OK with that.

What Does Your Band Sound Like? Is That Like "Kill Your Mother, Kill Your Father" Music?

You would think that after years of playing in bands i would have found the words to describe the music i love. I cant relate to anyone from outside of my world when it comes to music. The typical person relates aggressive music as "kill your mother, kill your father" music and the weekend metal head can only go as hard as Pantera. For years i played with my band Murdock and i could never describe my music to anyone. When asked i would usually say take the heaviest and noisiest music you can think of and we are heavier and noisier. I was usually met with a confused look and asked to describe further. At that point i would just draw a blank. As I get older and after years of frustration with dealing with this nonsense. I found a certain beauty in the fact that this was something only known to the people in the know. We knew a sound and a life that was alien to a world that just wouldn’t listen. We find beauty in the broken. Solace in noise. We are the mystery that world wishes it could be. We are Dancing, We Are Free.

PRINT IS DEAD

Long ago i was part of a printed zine. I loved the platform and used it to tell stories of a punk/ hardcore kid who was trying to find his way in a chosen career that didn't usually sync with what was typically a punk job. As the Internet exploded it became a cold hard fact that no one was being physical zines. Kids had quicker access to information via the Internet. PRINT WAS DEAD. I was lost....where was my outlet? I was behind the times and rejecting the thought of playing catch up. This is my attempt at bridging that gap...in my own life.Bear with me..................
